Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our growing team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse addiction by providing support, guidance, and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead peer support groups for clients, fostering a safe and supportive environment for sharing experiences and advice.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company, state, federal, and HIPAA regulations to ensure the highest level of client trust.
- Accurately chart client progress for insurance purposes, ensuring timely and thorough documentation.
- Exhibit a positive, professional attitude towards clients, staff, and volunteers, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
- Respond calmly and supportively in crisis situations, prioritizing client well-being and safety.
- Participate in drug screening as needed, upholding a commitment to a healthy and substance-free environment.
- Create a safe and healthy environment for clients, adhering to residential staff duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
- Availability to work evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts, as needed.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Capacity to enforce program requirements and policies, promoting a culture of accountability.
- Problem-solving abilities and basic computer skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
