Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Radiation Safety Expert to join our team at the Defense Health Headquarters. This role is crucial in supporting the Aerospace Medicine Operations Division, which is responsible for establishing policies related to Aerospace Medicine programs and assessing federal and Department of Defense (DoD) operational and preventive medicine, occupational health, and environmental surveillance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will play a vital role in:

  • Regulating the use of radioactive materials through a master materials license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
  • Supporting the development and implementation of policies and programs related to radiation protection for both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
  • Acting as the primary contact for inquiries regarding radiation exposure from veterans.
  • Assisting in planning operations for nuclear and radiological consequence management.

Work Schedule:
