Job Summary:

The Route Relief/Utility RSR plays a vital role in supporting the Service Department in meeting customer needs through up-selling/cross-selling and providing exceptional customer service. This position involves covering routes and performing service-related tasks as required, reporting directly to the District Manager.

Main duties include:

  • Performing all responsibilities of a Route Sales Representative and related tasks.
  • Learng and supporting all routes, running routes as needed for holidays, vacations, or other vacancies.
  • Assisting in rush deliveries, renewals, audits, training, and other tasks assigned by supervision.
  • Soliciting new customers, upselling/cross-selling, sampling all lines of service or product, and ensuring a profitable product mix.
  • Actively participating in promotions and contests, training, and audits.
  • FOLLOWING COMPANY POLICIES/PROCEDURES regarding new customers, managing customer needs, and all aspects of service.
  • Ensuring customer loyalty and outstanding customer service, building relationships, communicating openly, educating customers, and proactively resolving concerns in cooperation with supervision.
  • Safely operating a delivery vehicle on each trip, following all applicable laws and company policy, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and performing regular vehicle inspections.
  • Handling and processing customer payments, keeping route paperwork current.
  • Ensuring timely and correct deliveries of complete textile loads, picking up soiled textiles, and maintaining proper inventories in accounts. Servicing items such as facility maintenance products.
  • Monitoring and reporting competitive activity, keeping service agreements current and renewed.
  • Returning from route and offloading soiled textiles in the receiving area of the facility.
  • Accurately preparing route paperwork and following check-in procedures.
  • FOLLOWING WRITTEN AND VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS and performing other tasks as directed by supervision.

Requirements:

  • Having and maintaining a valid Driver's License, CDL when applicable.
  • Maintaining a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, safety, or other violations.
  • Demonstrating excellent skills in the operation of vehicles and verifiable minimum one year experience of safe and successful driving.
  • Demonstrating excellent skills in customer service and route sales.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English, comprehending and following direction, and good time management skills and team player.
  • Recognizing colors, sizes, and types of product and counting, adding, and subtracting accurately.

Education:

  • High School graduation or similar experience. Qualified driver's license.

Travel Requirements:

  • Daily, by delivery vehicle within a route.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

  • Operating vehicles on public roads, in and out of customer locations, loading areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, Service Center, or depot.
  • Indoor and outdoor areas of a typical industrial facility.

Typical Physical Activity:

  • Physical Demands: sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead, moving carts up to 500 lbs., lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, writing, speaking, hearing.
