We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Great Lakes Medical Associates, PC. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Review patient medical history and document their physical and emotional condition
- Provide healthcare support and assistance to patients and healthcare providers
- Accurately obtain patient vital signs and communicate any abnormalities to the provider
- Complete documentation and charting of all clinical test results
- Obtain lab specimens and process them as needed
- Administer medications as directed by the provider
- Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals
- Perform phlebotomy duties and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with providers to create and maintain patient education information
- Treat patients and associates with respect and dignity, and provide professional service in a timely and considerate manner
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities and maintain office logs and controls
- Graduate of a Medical Assisting program
- Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a medical practice, including basic patient care skills
- Medical terminology knowledge and ability to accurately utilize CPT and ICD 10 manuals
- Data entry skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle complex workload and meet daily deadlines
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with ability to prioritize workload and handle inherent stress
- Confidential handling of all PHI
Our office environment is agreeable, with duties that may include light to moderate exertion of manual effort in transporting materials, equipment, and/or patients. Frequent standing and/or walking, lifting, bending, pushing, and/or pulling loads up to 25 pounds.
