Patient Access Team Lead

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Team Lead to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of patient registration, financial counseling, insurance verification, and scheduling. Your expertise will be essential in identifying and resolving registration, scheduling, insurance verification, coding, and billing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee departmental processes, including staff functions and workflow.
- Monitor and track staff performance and productivity, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
- Ensure staff competency and compliance with technical and clerical components of the patient access process.
- Support leadership in organizational goals and initiatives, serving as a departmental leader to staff, patients, and internal and external customers.
- Identify and resolve registration, scheduling, insurance verification, coding, and billing issues, taking appropriate action.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 3-5 years of related experience.
- Experience with medical terminology, computer software programs, and benefit verification, collections, and financial counseling.
- Associate's degree preferred.
