Role Description

As a Medical Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between healthcare providers and patients who have limited English proficiency. Your expertise will be essential in promoting understanding and enhancing the quality of care through precise language interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Conduct pre-session briefings to clarify the interpreting process.
  • Interpret medical advice and information with accuracy.
  • Verify patient understanding of the information provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Navigate cultural differences to foster mutual understanding.
  • Exhibit professionalism and punctuality at all times.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to customer service.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a nationally accredited 40-hour medical interpreter training program.
  • Fluency in English and the target language(s), with a strong grasp of medical terminology.
  • Willingness to travel to various healthcare facilities as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive situations effectively.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
