Our Opportunity:

We are seeking an advanced thin film engineer to join our team at TEL Technology Center, America. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading scientific research and development of innovative processes and advancements in PVD for semiconductor technologies.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders to demonstrate concepts and feasibility of novel PVD process technologies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to conduct research, development, and optimization of PVD and thin film processes for semiconductor technologies.
  • Develop novel PVD and thin film processes and applications in the areas of logic, memory, analog, and emerging technologies.
  • Establish procedures, equipment configurations, and adopt a hands-on approach to sustain and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, research consortia, material suppliers, and universities to generate new solutions to develop leading-edge PVD and thin film products for TEL.
  • Identify potential intellectual property opportunities to ensure timely disclosures to maintain a strong patent portfolio.
  • Domestic and international travel, as necessary for internal and external meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a PhD degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, or related field with hands-on experience in PVD or semiconductor experimental research. Alternatively, a bachelor's/master's degree in related fields with 5 or more years of direct experience in PVD process technologies is also considered.

A strong understanding of semiconductor technology and/or process equipment technology is essential. The ideal candidate should be familiar with materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, TEM, Ellipsometry, XRD, XRR, TEM, and electrical characterization.

Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and manage process development projects are required. Domestic and international travel may be necessary.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $136,750.06 - $169,850.01. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
