Job Summary

The Town of Smyrna, TN is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III to join our team. As a key member of our wastewater treatment team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our wastewater treatment plant, ensuring the highest level of treatment and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring proper treatment and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including calibration of chemical feed pumps and instruments.
  • Collect and analyze wastewater samples, and perform laboratory tests to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Operate a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor and control plant operations.
  • Enter and update files on a computer for preparing reports, spreadsheets, and maintenance records.
  • Maintain sanitary cleanliness of work areas, the treatment plant, and associated facilities.
  • Work safely, observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and Town regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Tennessee Commercial Drivers License or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Grade III Wastewater Certificate or ability to obtain within eighteen months.
  • One year of experience in a related field or associate degree in a related field or combination.
  • Ability to wear mandatory safety equipment.
Working Hours

Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00 pm - 8:00 am.
