Orthopedic Clinic Coordinator

The Orthopedic Clinic Coordinator provides initial access for all clinic and Orthopedic Urgent Care patients, including greeting, registering, verifying medical and demographic information, scheduling follow-up appointments, and notifying the clinical team of patient arrival. This role also provides general support and assistance to patients, teams, and performs various administrative activities needed by our Revenue Cycle teams.
This is a part-time role based at our Lakeville clinic, with scheduled day hours from Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Medical reception or scheduling experience is desired. Flexibility to float to other Summit locations as needed.
- Complete all aspects of Registration and Scheduling Standards efficiently and accurately, including registering and scheduling patients, collecting medical and demographic information, collecting and reconciling co-pays and payments, obtaining and accurately entering Insurance information, and following all insurance and scheduling protocols to ensure accurate and compliant billing.
- Prepare next day patient charts for teams, distribute couriered mail, postal mail, and faxes.
- Communicate with teams/providers as necessary to provide a seamless and positive experience for the patient.
- Manage and coordinate patient pick-up items, including records and medical imaging CDs, while obtaining proper authorization and documentation.
- Assist with rescheduling patients when provider schedules change.
- Ensure the patient lobby is accessible, neat, and orderly.
- Perform various administrative duties and other duties as needed and assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients, teams, providers, and staff by being attentive, respectful, and helpful.
