Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Lead Systems Architect - Command & Telemetry Development to enhance our Command & Telemetry software systems. The selected candidate will engage in comprehensive Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives, ensuring seamless integration with our operational framework. The role involves crafting detailed user stories that are ready for development and collaborating with the team to maintain precise story point estimations. The Lead Systems Architect will also play a pivotal role in the development and upkeep of ground systems, alongside defining operational concepts and procedural planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements, establish system interfaces, and assist in determining validation and verification methods in collaboration with the testing team.
  • Offer engineering expertise for the execution of a segment of the testing program.
  • Facilitate verification, validation, and regression testing support across all deliverables.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is mandatory prior to commencement. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for security clearance eligibility.
  • Experience in Agile or DevOps environments, collaborating closely with software, integration, and verification teams to develop and maintain requirements, algorithm documentation, and user manuals.
  • Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering roles, particularly in operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition, and verification and validation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control.
  • Background in program domain experience.
  • Development experience within government contracts.
  • Familiarity with the Nightwing software product line.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of automation techniques and proficiency with Linux or Unix command line operations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with all levels of management, customers, and team members.
  • Excellent collaboration abilities, with a capacity to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
