Job Summary:

The Gap Filler Adjuster position supports claim handling efforts and assists with maintaining service levels during periods of adjuster absences across the department. This role involves investigating, analyzing, evaluating, and settling insurance claims involving liability issues, auto physical damage losses, bodily injury, and property damage losses assigned to any of Shelter Insurance Companies offices or units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and analyze insurance claims to determine validity and coverage
• Evaluate and settle claims within limits of authority, consistent with established procedures and legal and contractual obligations
• Determine the value of losses and negotiate settlements
• Maintain accurate records and reports of claims activity

Requirements:

• Investigative, analytical, and organizational skills
• Superior negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to learn through on-the-job training and obtain multi-state licensing
• Strong technology skills and flexibility to travel as job requires
• Efficient time management to maintain schedules and deadlines
