Job Summary

The Agtegra Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Research and Technology Intern. This position will provide hands-on experience in the field of agronomy and research, working closely with industry experts to gain a deeper understanding of the latest agricultural practices and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation and management of research and technology plots and trials
  • Conduct daily activities to support the agronomy sales team, including fertilizing, planting, mowing, tilling, and plot signing of the research and technology plot systems
  • Collect and analyze data from plots, including evaluating new products, taking pictures, stand counts, field notes, etc.
  • Assist in collecting field samples and setting up displays for field plot tours for agronomists and the general public
  • Support the efforts of the Agronomy Tech Service Manager on specific technical topics to support the sales agronomy team
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the vehicle policy, and fleet safety program, and DOT regulations
Requirements
  • Enrollment towards a relevant business or agronomy degree
  • Farm experience and experience operating farm equipment is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Commercial pesticide applicator license or the interest to obtain one is highly desired
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
