Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 2 to join our team at the Spokane Veterans Home. This is a full-time, evening shift position that offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our veterans.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, carry out, evaluate, and revise treatment plans for individual residents based on physician recommendations.
  • Pass medications, administer, monitor and record treatments, and assess resident condition, including skin assessment.
  • Suction patients, administer oxygen, catheterization, irrigation, administer IV solutions, colostomy and trach care, and maintain gastric feeding tubes and pumps.
  • Support and record physical and psychosocial changes. Record actions and findings in medical records.
  • Make nursing assessments of residents as necessitated by the condition of the resident, and on a quarterly basis for the completion of the minimum data set.
  • Maintain a safe environment, including preventive infection control.
Requirements
  • Current Washington State registered nurse license OR unencumbered registered nurse multistate license.
  • Ability to follow accurate methods and practices of nursing and restorative care, personal hygiene and sanitation methods, record keeping, report preparation, infection control procedures and resident rights.
  • Ability to assess, evaluate and participate in the development of appropriate plans of care. Plan, implement and document appropriate discharge planning for residents when appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Long-term care experience.
  • One (1) year experience as a registered nurse.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and be capable of reaching a minimum of 36 inches using proper technique to stock shelves and access supplies.
