About the Position

The IRS Recent Graduates Program offers a developmental experience in the Federal Government aimed at promoting possible careers in civil service. Selected applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with potential career growth in the Federal Government.

The IRS Forward Recent Graduate Program includes an additional year of formal development, training, networking, project teams, and rotational assignments. Upon completion, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career/career-conditional or term appointment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist higher-grade analysts or management in planning projects or studies, objectives, timeframes, and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Work closely with higher-grade analysts or management to devise and implement systems for gathering, recording, retaining, tracking, and updating data supporting study/project objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate mathematical statistical and research techniques are used.
  • Provide mathematical statistical assistance when projects/studies are performed in conjunction with other functions or upon request from other persons in and out of government.
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting study/project results and preparing recommendations based on mathematical statistical findings.
  • Interpret mathematical statistical limitations and qualifications of study results in terms that are technically correct.
  • Maintain team leaders, superiors, and others informed of study and project progress throughout all phases.

Requirements

To qualify, you must meet the Pathways Recent Graduate Program eligibility criteria within the previous 2 years:

  • Complete all educational requirements for a qualifying degree or certificate from a qualifying institution.
  • Intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application.

Education and Experience

You must have a bachelor's degree that included courses in mathematics and statistics totaling at least 24 semester hours.

In addition, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service or one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level with promotion potential to GS-12.

Estimated Salary: $62,145 - $80,628 per annum.
