Clinical Visiting Professor of Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Visiting Professor to join our team at Chamberlain University, a regionally accredited institution with a 130-year history of educating healthcare professionals. As a Clinical Visiting Professor, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, while also contributing to the development of our curriculum and programs.
About the RoleThe Clinical Visiting Professor will be responsible for implementing the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession. This includes planning clinical experiences for and providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to individuals or groups.
Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student's knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner
- May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator
- Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- An unencumbered professional nursing license
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
- Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a rate of $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on your education and experience.
