About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician to join our team at Foundation Health Partners. As a Biomedical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment in our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and calibrate clinical equipment at a component level.
  • Inspect incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Perform scheduled/preventive maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and quality assurance consistent with applicable regulatory standards on assigned medical equipment.
  • Repair patient care equipment, medical communications equipment, and PCs to board/module level through an understanding of electronics theory and applications.
  • Provide customer relations and resolve equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible.
  • Document all work performed, maintain parts, supplies, tools, test equipment, and technical literature by completing service reports and supplemental productivity documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of electronics as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate's degree in Biomedical Technologies from an accredited college.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience within an acute-care hospital setting.
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
  • A working knowledge of electricity, AC/DC electronics, electro/mechanics, hydraulics/pneumatics, medical terminology, and basic physiology.
  • Proficiency in PC repair and Windows PC and network operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturer-trained or equivalent on Physiological Monitoring Systems, Anesthesia Systems, Dialysis Systems, Ultrasound Equipment, and LASER equipment.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience on two or more of the above systems.
