Are you a skilled technician with a passion for heavy equipment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to join our team at N C Machinery in Fairbanks, AK.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to join our Service Department. As a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems. You will need to have experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Use CAT diagnostic equipment and repair tooling to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Work with rigging and blocking equipment to safely move and position heavy equipment
- Plan and organize work to ensure efficient and effective repair of equipment
- Investigate and analyze problems to identify root causes and recommend solutions
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and CDL Class B
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook)
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours per day and perform physical tasks such as twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping and kneeling
- Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with customers
- Experience working at a Caterpillar dealership or with CAT products is ideal
