Job Description

The YMCA of Memphis & The MId is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Y-Cap Program Advisor. This role will play a critical part in supporting the Director of Prevention Programs with daily program operations and ensuring the success of the Y-Cap program.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to Y-Cap youth and their families, utilizing positive redirection techniques and promoting social emotional learning.
  • Coordinate and interact with Y-Cap enrolled youth and their families, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor and supervise Y-Cap youth during programming time, maintaining a high level of commitment to their well-being.
  • Assist with the implementation of Y-Cap programs, delivery of value sessions, and other community programming initiatives.
  • Support the Director of Prevention Programs with volunteer recruitment and management, ensuring a strong network of community supporters.
  • Accurately report work time and maintain accurate records, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Drive The Dream (DTD) United Way referral services for children and families, ensuring seamless support and resources.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required for visits to YMCA Centers, schools, and community programming sites.


Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma, with previous YMCA experience and/or experience working with at-risk youth preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, able to work alone with youth, and have reliable transportation for programming activities.
  • Must be available to work afternoons and evenings, with flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.
