Job Title: Resident Advisor

At Akua Behavioral Health, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our recovery residence, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and secure environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all residents are adhering to house rules and focusing on their recovery by attending outpatient treatment programs.
  • Conduct daily breathalyzer tests and drug screens as required by house rules.
  • Facilitate weekly house meetings to check-in with each resident and assign house chores.
  • Conduct residence orientations with new residents, including a review of house rules, settling them in a prepared bedroom, and a house tour.
  • Discharge residents who have finished their contracted length of stay or are not following house rules, with guidance from management.
  • Provide referral resources to residents when requested or needed.
  • Work closely with the operations supervisor and management team.
  • Maintain inventory of household supplies and request refurbishments/restocking as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring property to protect from damage and/or theft.
  • Participate in mandatory health and safety, peer mentoring, or recovery residence training as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Current Health Screen
  • TB Clearance
  • Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health services field (preferred) or High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting (preferred)
