We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at East Harlem Scholars Academies. As a member of our instructional leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging physical education programs that promote student learning and development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with our school's mission and values
  • Track and measure student progress, and use data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in physical education and anti-racist pedagogy
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching physical education in a Pre-K to 12th grade setting
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, and relevant NYS certifications
  • Experience with or willingness to learn about anti-racist pedagogy and its application in physical education
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
