Job Summary

This internship/co-op program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in managing large-scale systems and preparing them for a career in Site Reliability Engineering. As a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the development, network, and security teams to deliver reliable, performant, and scalable software products.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing cloud infrastructure (AWS) and on-premises data centers.
  • Provision and configure new services and systems as needed.
  • Analyze system usage trends and plan for capacity upgrades.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and work with teams to optimize system performance.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of systems and services.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Document operational procedures, configurations, and best practices.
  • Follow security best practices and assist in security incident response efforts.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university.
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027).
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating).
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025.
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs.
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering).
Preferred Skills
  • Good understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Strong coding skills are essential, particularly in languages commonly used for automation and infrastructure management such as Python, Go, or Java.
  • Knowledge of tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management tasks is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Nagios, Datadog) and logging frameworks (ELK stack, Splunk) helps in understanding system performance, troubleshooting, and incident response.
