Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Seasonal Produce Inspector to join our team at US Foods. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our perishable products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with warehouse management to address food safety concerns and maintain accurate records of inspections.
  • Make recommendations on dump and damage, as well as repackaging of perishable items.
  • Inspect and verify Purchase Order quantities for all inbound perishable loads.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of inbound trucks for signs of pest and rodents before unloading.
  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures related to receiving, storage, and shipping.
  • Identify and report any issues to warehouse management.
  • Document temperatures of all inbound loads and report any violations to warehouse manager and buyers.
  • Perform daily quality inspections for all perishable items.
  • Conduct daily date checks and pull all outdated product from pick and reserve slots.
  • Complete daily dump and damage reports and submit to warehouse supervisor or inventory control.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of produce experience (foodservice, retail, grower/shipper) or similar required.
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jack.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
