Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, the Culinary Services Specialist performs a variety of administrative, technical, and analytical duties, providing day-to-day support to the Culinary Services department. Key responsibilities include participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures, as well as contributing to the completion of complex departmental projects and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficient departmental operations
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Culinary Services, including research, data analysis, and report preparation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental projects, including project planning, coordination, and evaluation
  • Interact with various stakeholders, including university staff, faculty, and external partners, to provide information and support
  • Maintain accurate records and databases to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures
Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience, plus two years of related experience. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite is required, as well as knowledge of Google Suite, inventory management systems, labor scheduling software, and register systems.

Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary placement dependent on qualifications and experience. The position is eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, retirement, tuition waiver, vacation, and sick leave. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Employer.
