About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Tax Director to join our team at Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the entire tax department and providing expert guidance on taxation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality tax services.
    • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize client outcomes.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance
    • Prepare tax projections and maintain a working relationship with selected clients.
    • Perform compliance review and tax return signoff.
    • Handle client consultations on planning opportunities and changes in tax law.
  • Business Development
    • Work on proposals and assist in developing new business.
    • Meet prospective clients and develop relationships with new and existing clients.
    • Expand services to existing clients.
  • Professional Development
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate advanced-level staff.
    • Coach, mentor, and assist staff in developing and assisting in the growth of the tax function.
    • Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect clients.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
    • Masters in Taxation preferred.
  • Experience
    • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
    • 3+ years with supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.
  • Certifications
    • CPA certification.
  • Skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to apply critical thinking in daily tasks and research projects.
    • Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
    • Exceptional work ethic and integrity.
