Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS St Vincent Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing computed tomographic procedures, including biopsies, and working closely with radiologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform computed tomographic procedures, including biopsies, as requested by physicians.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate and high-quality patient care.
- Manipulate exams to meet the needs of patients and doctors.
- Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Verify patient identification before performing all exams.
- Provide care for patients while obtaining diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Have advanced knowledge of contrast media, its effects on patients, and appropriate actions in case of a reaction.
- Check and double-check all contrast before administering it to patients and chart contrast usage in patient records.
- Ability to work fluidly and as a member of a team.
- Manage patient flow and obtain pertinent patient medical information/data.
- Perform QA/QC in accordance with ACR guidelines.
- Ability to start, maintain, and remove IVs and power injectors.
- Maintain equipment and exam rooms in optimal condition and report malfunctions promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- ARRT certification in CT required and New Mexico State licenses required.
- BLS certification issued through American Heart Association required within one month of hire date.
- IV certification preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment.
- Knowledge of advanced cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of radiographic positioning.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficiency in starting IVs.
- Minimum one-year radiographic experience required.
- 1 year CT experience preferred.
- Work schedule: 7:00pm - 7:30am, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, with 2 call days a month.
- Department: CT/Radiology.
- Nature of supervision: Responsible to Director, Radiology Manager, Radiology Clinical Supervisor, and CT Charge Technologist.
