Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and release of mechanical projects, creating and modifying mechanical drawings and BOMs, and analyzing existing designs for improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design and release of mechanical projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Design Documentation: Create, modify, and update mechanical drawings and BOMs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Design Analysis: Analyze existing designs and provide recommendations for improvements, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Participate in brainstorming and design reviews, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Procurement: Quoting, estimating, and pricing materials, placing orders with vendors, and sourcing materials to meet project requirements.
  • Project Management: Deliver projects on time and within budget, working closely with shop personnel to ensure accurate machining and product delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in the checking of drawings and analyzing tolerance stack-ups, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engineering Standards: Assist in developing and maintaining engineering and drafting standards, ensuring consistency and accuracy across projects.
  • Change Management: Issue and complete ECOs, ensuring seamless implementation of design changes and updates.

Requirements:

  • Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Degree is not required).
  • Experience: 10+ years of design experience, with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering.
  • Skills: Experience designing tooling, press fits, and/or slip fits, with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Personal Qualities: Driven and ambitious personality, with attention to detail and a creative, innovative approach to engineering design.
  • Teamwork: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Quoting and Estimating: Experience with quoting and estimating is preferred, but not required.
