Role Summary

The Production Cell Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Silgan Dispensing team, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to enhance their professional skills. Our facility is responsible for the efficient production of numerous dispensing products daily, making it essential to maintain optimal operational flow. The Production Cell Supervisor is tasked with ensuring equipment functionality by setting up, optimizing production processes, and conducting quality assessments as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate high-speed assembly production machinery as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the shift supervisor and production coordinator to prioritize daily work orders.
  • Assist the shift supervisor by promptly addressing any issues related to production timelines.
  • Identify and resolve material-related challenges in coordination with the shift supervisor and production coordinator.
  • Notify management of staffing concerns and collaborate with other team leaders to allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and conduct periodic audits during shifts.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their objectives, providing follow-up on action items and liaising with other departments as needed.
  • Focus on maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and schedule adherence while minimizing changeover times using lean methodologies.
  • Direct the evaluation and segregation of non-conforming products, tracing the source of any deficiencies.
  • Oversee the training of team members to promote their development within the organization.
  • Assist in preparing product engineering requests as needed.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and lead team meetings.
  • Act as the representative for the team during shifts.
  • Support lean initiatives such as 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Willingness to assist cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Skills in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Capability to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Physical activities may include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, and crouching.
