Healthcare Associate

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Partner to join our team at Sharp HealthCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Competency: Collaborate with our interprofessional team to deliver quality patient care, under the direction of a licensed nurse. Perform at least one higher-level competency, such as EKG, Lift Team/Mobilization, or Integrative Therapy.
- Teamwork and Communication: Greet and welcome patients and families, obtain information, and direct as needed. Use scripts to answer phones, transfer calls, and provide customer assistance. Respond to call lights and phone calls in a timely manner.
- Admissions, Discharge, and Transfer Responsibilities: Ensure complete room setup for new admissions, meet and greet patients and families, and orient them to the facility and room. Inventory and document patient belongings, and account for them during transfer and discharge.
- Patient Care Activities: Provide patient care within scope of responsibilities, complete and sign documents accurately and timely, and communicate changes in patient condition. Take rapid action in life-threatening situations and notify the licensed nurse.
- Safety: Comply with universal precautions and hospital infection control policies, use proper body mechanics and safe patient mobilization equipment, and report observed hazards and unsafe practices.
- Medical Record/Information Management: Obtain chart inserts for admissions, maintain charts, and ensure additional forms are available. Request medical records, films, or other medical information from other facilities as needed.
- Less than 1 year of related clinical experience.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience as a unit clerk/secretary in an acute care setting.
- Other comparable certified nursing assistant course.
