Position Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Anesthesia Technician to join our esteemed team. This role is crucial in providing support during surgical procedures by monitoring patients' vital signs and ensuring optimal anesthesia care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients' EKG and invasive hemodynamic pressures during cardiac and general surgical interventions.
  • Conduct cardiac output assessments and special invasive pressure measurements.
  • Perform various clinical tests, including blood gas analysis and coagulation studies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in intra-aortic balloon pumping and intraoperative autologous transfusion.
  • Provide technical support and basic maintenance for departmental equipment.
  • Facilitate training for new employees and cardiovascular technology students.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a college degree in a science-related field or have graduated from an accredited cardiovascular technology program. Previous experience in an operating room or anesthesia setting is highly desirable.
