Job Summary

The Civil Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of several concurrent projects, from pre-construction to closeouts. This role leads and manages a team of project managers, assistant project managers, project engineers, and office engineers to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policies.
  • Supervise staff in the day-to-day administration of a job and/or supervise project management staff in their daily tasks.
  • Review drawings for questions or changes to be submitted via RFI and review RFI's received from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project.
  • Develop project Schedule of Values (SOV).
  • Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project.
  • Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor construction activities in conjunction with the onsite Foreman and Division Superintendent to ensure project is being built on schedule and within budgets.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, including associated costs, schedule, and related change orders.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines.
  • Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc.
  • Engage in business development.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and maintain a good relationship with the client.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience as a project manager, preferably in electrical construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: California Driver's License, OSHA 10.
  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 annual salary.
  • Location: Santa Barbara County.
Working Conditions
  • Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions.
  • May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions at a job site.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
