We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Public Works team as a summer intern. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the planning, organization, and oversight of daily operations in our water/wastewater treatment and analysis process, streets, parks, and grounds.

About the Role

You will work closely with our experienced team members to develop and implement projects, participate in project management from planning to completion, and gain a deeper understanding of the trades such as HVAC, Electrician, and Building Maintenance. This internship will provide you with a well-rounded sense of how we support our community and contribute to the well-being of our environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of projects related to water/wastewater treatment and analysis, streets, parks, and grounds.
  • Participate in project management from planning to completion, including developing project plans, coordinating with team members, and monitoring progress.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the trades such as HVAC, Electrician, and Building Maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program pertinent to the department/team to which assigned.
  • Basic level skills in word-processing, spreadsheets, or other tools standard to the department/team to which assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
