Job Description

At Discovery Village at Deerwood, we are seeking a skilled Activities and Events Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing resident activities, planning and conducting programs that cater to the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and oversight of resident activities.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct programs that provide opportunities for residents to engage in physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual activities.
  • Attend community-planned functions and help coordinate events from setup to breakdown.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in social work, recreation, sociology, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in assisted living or long-term care working with memory care patients is preferred.
  • Proficient verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
  • Ability to encourage and motivate older adults is essential.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, are necessary.
  • Demonstrated creative ability and strong organizational, delegation, and consensus-building skills are required.
