Position Summary

The Senior Banking Representative plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service, processing banking transactions, managing cash drawers, and making qualified referrals to Retail Banking. This position also supports the Teller Supervisor in ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, resolving customer issues, and achieving team sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Teller Duties:
    • Deliver personalized customer service by greeting clients, using their names, and ensuring effective communication.
    • Process deposits and withdrawals while adhering to established policies, ensuring proper endorsements and identification.
    • Handle various payments and orders, including loan payments and cashier's checks, in accordance with bank procedures.
    • Count and package currency accurately, balancing cash drawers and investigating discrepancies promptly.
    • Utilize technology effectively to complete transactions accurately.
    • Contribute to branch sales goals by actively participating in referral initiatives.
    • Engage in mandatory training sessions focused on sales, customer service, compliance, and product knowledge.
    • Maintain flexibility to assist at different branches as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities for Senior Representatives:
    • Exercise some authority in cash disbursement decisions.
    • Assist management with compliance and security related to teller operations.
    • Support teller staff through training and motivation to ensure high-quality service.
    • Provide operational assistance to the Teller Supervisor, including end-of-day balancing and audit support.
    • Help maintain adequate cash levels for teller operations.
    • Participate in audits and security assessments as required.
    • Model exemplary customer service and sales behaviors for team members.
    • Actively engage in achieving branch sales referral goals.
    • Assist in ordering supplies necessary for teller operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience in banking, cash handling, or customer service.
  • Onsite presence is required for this role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting products and achieving sales referrals.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Adherence to banking regulations and policies.
  • Experience in balancing cash drawers and resolving discrepancies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience as a Teller.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
