Job Summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Treatment Counselor to join our team at the Corpus Christi Transitional Center in Corpus Christi, TX. As a Treatment Counselor, you will be responsible for providing individual and group treatment interventions to offenders, promoting positive attitudes, skills, and coping mechanisms to encourage ongoing recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct interviews and assessments to determine individual and group needs, and develop treatment plans in accordance with CoreCivic partner agencies and prevailing state regulations.
  • Treatment Interventions: Facilitate individual and group treatment sessions, promoting positive attitudes, skills, and coping mechanisms to encourage ongoing recovery.
  • Documentation and Tracking: Maintain accurate and confidential records of treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other treatment team members to ensure comprehensive care and communicate effectively with participants, families, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Certifications: TX LCDC required.
  • Other: A valid driver's license and minimum age requirement of 18 years old.

Work Environment
