Rigging Specialist

Craft Description:

A skilled craft professional responsible for safely and efficiently moving, lifting, and placing equipment and materials according to blueprint, design, or client specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of rigging techniques, load calculations, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute rigging operations to ensure safe and efficient movement of loads.
2. Conduct load calculations to determine the weight and center of gravity of loads to be moved.
3. Inspect rigging equipment daily to ensure it is in good working condition.
4. Communicate with team members and place barricades in areas where loads are moved or lifted.
5. Select and attach the appropriate rigging equipment to cranes or lifting devices.
6. Install equipment and materials in place using bolts, clamps, and other fastening methods.
7. Perform hand and verbal crane signals to a crane operator.

Requirements:
1. Possess educational skills to perform duties.
2. Pass company pre-employment physical and substance abuse requirements.
3. Pass job-related PFT and mask fit testing requirements.
4. Work to job-specific requirements using required personal protective equipment.
5. Perform shop math with knowledge of geometry.
6. Climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures.
7. Tolerate and work in enclosed areas and high elevations.
8. Stoop, bend, walk, crawl, or crouch.
9. Handle, reach for, and manipulate objects, components, and materials.
10. Carry or lift objects and materials up to 50 pounds.
