Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients
  • Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment
  • Participating in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care
  • Routinely providing triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
  • Routinely performing venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
  • Routinely providing intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
  • Assuming the responsibility of charging the department, as needed
Requirements
  • Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification within 6 months of hire
  • One year experience in Emergency Services (ED) (ER) (FSED)

Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community. Northshore Emergency Center is a full-service 24-7 emergency department in Portland that offers outpatient laboratory, imaging, and occupational services. Radiation Oncology offers advanced technology for treating cancer with the latest and most specific radiation therapies available.
