Position Overview:
As a Patient Access Coordinator I, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare delivery process by ensuring the accurate identification and registration of patients within the hospital's information system. This includes gathering comprehensive demographic, insurance, and clinical data to maintain precise records and facilitate timely billing for services rendered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Efficiently manage the scheduling of same-day appointments, diagnostic tests, and examinations.
2. Provide exceptional reception services while overseeing patient flow to support Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services or Emergency Department operations.
3. Uphold the highest standards of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Work Experience: Relevant experience in customer service; familiarity with computerized information systems is essential. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Strong customer service orientation and professionalism.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying scheduling needs, including shifts and holidays.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous.
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Windows applications and navigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
• General office skills are essential.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $25.41 per hour.
