Rehabilitation Therapist

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Therapist - Music to join our team. As a Music Therapist, you will work under the administrative supervision of the Program Assistant and under the general lead and clinical direction of the Chief, Rehabilitation Therapy Service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide music therapy services to patients with mental, physical, developmental, and/or geriatric disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized music therapy plans to promote restoration, maintenance, and development of capabilities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Conduct music therapy sessions, assessments, and evaluations to measure patient progress and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, progress, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Master's degree in Music Therapy or a related field.
- Registration with the American Music Therapy Association or eligibility for registration.
- Experience working with patients with mental, physical, developmental, and/or geriatric disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The position requires working in a secure treatment area with patients who may have mental, physical, developmental, and/or geriatric disabilities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Special Requirements:- Pass a background investigation and medical clearance prior to hire.
- Complete a drug screening prior to hire.
Please note that this is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be able to work a regular schedule, including weekends and holidays.
