Position Overview:
As a Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist, you will provide guidance to both leadership and sales personnel regarding optimal strategies for procurement and inventory oversight.

Your role will serve as a key resource for branch personnel, utilizing your expertise in Inventory Management Principles and Transwest Core Values.

We are seeking a proactive individual who is organized, efficient, and possesses a keen eye for detail, thriving in a fast-paced environment while working autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently review and process customer special orders on a daily basis.
- Implement sound procurement practices by assessing and placing replenishment orders for inventory items, supporting inventory performance benchmarks.
- Address inventory and receiving discrepancies by collaborating with warehouse personnel to gather necessary information and liaising with suppliers for credits or locating missing parts.
- Work alongside accounts payable to rectify any discrepancies that may hinder prompt invoice payments.
- Analyze physical inventory and receiving data to ensure accurate stock counts and that all transactions are properly recorded.
- Tackle challenges and respond to inquiries from departmental staff by leveraging your knowledge of business systems and supplier data.
- Conduct data analysis and generate reports to aid management in strategic decision-making.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This position requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for extended periods.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as keyboards, photocopiers, telephones, and calculators.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
- Ability to receive, analyze, and input data into computer systems.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Normal hearing and vision range is required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in written form.
- Proficient in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
- Exceptional follow-up and analytical skills.
- Must successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical examination, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Heavy Duty Parts/Purchasing.
- Background with DTNA.
- Strong analytical experience.
- Previous involvement in purchasing and/or inventory management.
- Experience reconciling inventory and addressing discrepancies.
