About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SUE Technician III to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our SUE Services team, you will play a critical role in mitigating risks associated with new infrastructure design and construction.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to tackle a wide range of projects, utilizing electromagnetic and geophysical technologies to designate existing utilities.
  • Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck, performing test holes to expose utilities and maintaining traffic control.
  • Coordinate survey work with SUE teams and communicate with utility companies and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Supervise field crew activities and train junior crew members to ensure high-quality work and efficient project execution.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designation technologies.
  • Experience with vacuum excavation is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and learn new software.
  • Proficient communication and internal collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and occasionally travel out of town.
  • Good driving skills and a clean driving record are essential.
  • Prioritization of safety for yourself and others is mandatory.
