Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team in Manhattan. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with various types of cancer and blood disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, consulting physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to inform treatment decisions.
  • Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies as needed.
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with New York State law and hospital protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in hematology/oncology.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical area of practice (e.g., ANCC or Board Certification from another specialty organization).
  • BLS or ACLS, PALS, NRP Provider, and NALS certifications as required by hospital protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of clinical nursing practice in hematology/oncology or a related field.
  • Experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in a similar setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
