**Job Overview**

The City of Onalaska is seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Specialist to join their team. As a Facility Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the Omni Center, a multi-purpose facility that hosts various events and activities.

**Job Responsibilities**

  • Event Support: Assist with the set-up and takedown of equipment for events, and ensure the building is returned to its original condition before and after each event.
  • Safety Protocols: Enforce the rules of the Omni Center by ensuring safety protocols are followed by the general public when on premises.
  • Building Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of the building, including bathroom cleaning and restocking, floor care, windows, and custodial cleaning, as well as outside maintenance.
  • Ice Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of the ice, including resurfacing, flooding, patching, and edging.
  • Opening and Closing Procedures: Perform opening procedures for the building during events and properly secure the building each night.
  • Customer Service: Ensure customers or prospective customers' needs are reasonably met during the course of an event.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, and 18 years old.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Skills and Abilities: Good oral and written communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and ability to operate power equipment such as floor scrubbers, forklifts, and hand and power tools.

**Compensation and Benefits**

The salary for this seasonal, limited-term position is $11.00 to $14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Flexible scheduling is available, and the position is open until filled.
