Position Overview

Barfield Inc., a prominent player in the aviation maintenance sector, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Specialist to join our Operations/Production team. With a legacy dating back to 1945, we operate multiple facilities strategically located to support the needs of our clients in the aviation industry.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting tests, diagnosing issues, repairing, and calibrating units utilizing schematic diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and other relevant documentation.
  • Performing inspections and evaluations of Mechanical Aircraft Components to detect defects and assess wear.
  • Disassembling, cleaning, and examining Aircraft Components for maintenance.
  • Executing repairs or replacements of damaged or worn parts.
  • Reassembling and testing Mechanical units to verify operational integrity.
  • Carrying out a variety of complex tasks with precision.
  • Familiarizing oneself with various Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) practices and protocols.
  • Reporting to the lead technician, supervisor, or manager as required.
Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations.
  • Completion of technical training from a recognized educational institution or 1-2 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and interpret maintenance manuals effectively.
  • Proficiency in evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating units using official documentation.
  • Experience with mechanical tools, multimeters, micrometers, calipers, measuring indicators, and gauges.
  • The capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with standardized tools and electrical equipment.
  • A commitment to adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
