Summary
The Sleep Lab Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of clinical operations and staff within the Sleep Center. This role includes performing all duties associated with Registered Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist and clerical office staff as required.

Essential Functions
1. Administers diagnostic procedures using established protocols; operates polysomnographic equipment to capture diagnostic recordings while manually controlling the equipment to obtain relevant waveforms from the area under examination.
2. Prepares and scores sleep studies and reports for physicians; monitors the quality of tests conducted while ensuring effective resource management; completes quality reports as necessary.
3. Reviews clinical data from medical records and patient interviews to inform testing modalities based on gathered information; maintains proficiency and stays current in the neurodiagnostic field by obtaining continuing education units (CEUs) as applicable.

4. Provides daily oversight of sleep center operations; develops staffing schedules to ensure that staffing ratios meet patient requirements.

5. Assists with candidate interviews and selection, conducts employee performance evaluations, and manages employee disciplinary actions; trains and mentors both new and existing staff members.

6. Maintains sleep center databases and the laboratory policy and procedure manual; contributes to sleep center projects.

Requirements
1. Vocational/Technical Degree in at least one of the following fields: Sleep, Respiratory Therapy, EEG, or another clinical healthcare area.

Licensure/Certification:
RPSGT, RST, RRT/CRT with SDS or CPSGT; and BLS Certification.

2. Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in an accredited Sleep Center.

3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong social skills, effective oral and written communication abilities, and computer proficiency are essential. Must be capable of working independently and solving problems with minimal guidance and supervision.

4. Prior supervisory experience and/or medical office management experience is preferred.
