Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager with a specialized focus on automotive manufacturing plant development. This role will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion of modern automotive manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will manage projects that encompass assembly lines, production areas, testing centers, and supporting infrastructure, all while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of large-scale automotive manufacturing plant construction projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment with technical specifications and production needs.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance, ensuring accurate cost control, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial efficiency.
  • Provide regular financial progress reports to senior leadership.
  • Establish and manage detailed construction schedules.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure timely completion of key milestones.
  • Identify and address delays, implementing recovery plans when necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Select, hire, and manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that all work meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Oversee contracts to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project scope.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with automotive industry standards, local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols across all construction sites.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between construction teams and internal departments, including manufacturing engineering and plant operations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required. Masters degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • 7+ years of construction management experience, with a proven track record in large-scale manufacturing facilities, ideally in the automotive sector.
  • Experience with EV battery technology in the automotive industry, including any projects related to battery design, manufacturing, or integration into electric vehicles preferred
  • This role requires the ability to travel frequently across the U.S. to manage various high-profile construction projects. Flexibility and a willingness to be on-site for extended periods are essential to ensure project success and seamless execution.
  • Expertise in construction methodologies, materials, and equipment used in automotive manufacturing plant construction.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage contractors in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to handle complex project logistics.
