We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to fill an Internal Float Dialysis Patient Care Technician position for our dialysis clinics in Alaska.
Key Responsibilities- Care for and monitor patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
- Prepare dialysis machine and its components for treatment.
- Transport patients, record patient's weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate.
- Explain dialysis procedure and operation of hemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.
- Inspect and clean area of access (fistula, graft, or catheter).
- Inspect equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity (proportion of chemicals to water), and temperature to ensure conformance to safety standards.
- Start patient treatment according to physician order.
- Monitor patient for adverse reaction and hemodialysis machine for malfunction.
- Assist in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic.
- 1+ year of dialysis experience required.
- CCHT certification required.
- High school graduate, GED, or equivalent required.
- CPR certification desirable -- must have ability to become certified.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computers and technical skills.
- Enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic.
- Frequent long periods of standing, bending, stooping, walking, sitting.
- The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel by airplane/car to all FKC clinics in the state.
