Project Manager, Ocean Systems Development

Triton Systems Inc. is a rapidly growing company that specializes in developing advanced technologies for the ocean environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead our innovative development teams.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in R&D engineering and project leadership, with experience in subsea industry, missions, and related technologies. They will be responsible for leading project teams, providing technical direction, and taking ownership of project success.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering, and 5+ years of R&D experience. They will be proficient in CAD design, machine shop equipment, and programming languages such as COMSOL, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
As a Project Engineer at Triton Systems, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including subsea systems, submarine systems, unmanned undersea vehicles, sonobuoy, towed array, and offshore renewable energy. Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams and provide technical direction
- Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships
- Develop technology development roadmaps and transition plans
- Recognize and creatively solve complex problems
- Identify and manage project schedules and risks
- Design, build, and test mechanical systems for the ocean environment
- Integrate electrical and software systems
- Hands on assembly and repair of machines and prototypes
- Rapidly develop high-quality CAD in Solidworks for fabrication and manufacturing
- Perform experiments in an independent & inventive manner
- Develop and communicate a compelling narrative for technical project progress or proposed work
Desired qualifications:
- Department of Defense and/or US Navy R&D engineering or project leadership experience
- Experience with subsea industry, missions, and related technologies
- Experience building and fielding ocean technologies
- Experience designing systems for submarines, or other subsea applications
- Experience with marine robotic systems design and prototyping
- Experience with structural engineering and analysis
- Experience conducting in-water or at-sea testing
- Competency using CAD and basic machine shop equipment
- Experience with COMSOL, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Solidworks, Altium, etc.
- Experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Experience writing technical proposals
Education/Experience:
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering or related engineering field required. Advanced degree is a significant plus.
