Description

Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Ground Transportation Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering creative, cost-effective, and quality solutions to our clients.

This is a hybrid remote position opportunity, allowing you to work from one of our offices in Portsmouth, NH, Manchester, NH, Burlington, VT, or Chelmsford, MA. We offer a flexible schedule and remote work options, as well as a lucrative sign-on bonus.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing calculations, layouts, estimates, and specifications under senior engineers and project managers. You will also lead and guide junior engineers and CADD teammates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a primary role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size, and difficulty.
  • Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager.
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, project schedule, and provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget.
  • Understand the client's organization, key people, and client expectations.
  • Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team.
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff.
  • Lead small teams for moderately complex projects.
  • Assist in proposal efforts and development.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers, and others as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients/contractors.
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentations in a public setting.

Requirements:

  • BSCE Degree required, MSCE preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT.
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans, or MassDOT highway projects.
  • Proficient in Microstation, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, Civil 3D, ArcView, In Roads, WORD, Excel, and MS Project.
