Job Title: Banquet Captain

At Prairie's Edge Casino Resort, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team. As a key member of our Convention Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests and ensuring the smooth execution of events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Banquet Team in the set-up and take-down of events, ensuring that all details are attended to and that the event runs smoothly.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Sales Manager to plan and coordinate events, including layout development and logistics.
  • Interpret event information and communicate effectively with the Banquet Staff to ensure that all details are understood and executed.
  • Assist with payroll, scheduling, and tip reporting as needed.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings to review organizational needs and ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all Banquet Staff meet departmental guest service standards and satisfaction at each scheduled event.
  • Report any employee issues to the Banquet Sales Manager and participate in the disciplinary process as requested.
  • Attend scheduled casino and department meetings or trainings.
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of department policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of internet and Email software, and all Microsoft Office programs.
  • TIPS certified or willing to obtain TIPS certification within 90 days of hire date.
  • Strong customer service background and ability to work independently.
