Aircraft Structures Technician Job Description

STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join our team in Macon, Georgia.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform structural repairs and fabrication of parts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with aircraft structures and be able to use technical data and drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural repairs and fabrication of parts according to specifications and technical data.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Use measuring instruments and test equipment to inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment.
  • Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points.
  • Identify and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide information and documentation for engineering requests.
  • Comply with repair station procedures and company policies when performing aircraft or component maintenance.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in aircraft structures or a related field.
  • Ability to fabricate parts and read technical data and drawings.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR Respirator Protection regulations.
  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to do work above head.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to climb.
